All things Christmas

This is a preview of my latest pattern called "All things Christmas" due for release in the New Year.
I have had my busyfingers angel helping me stitch this one up.
Gayle Hartigan is one of those special people in this world.

Like everyone I have so many new designs on the go. This is a little piece of my next creation.
Not sure how it is going to end up but I love the fabric. It is from Quiltgate.

I have spent the afternoon doing some organising for our retreat in March here at Kindred Spirits. Guest tutor Helen Stubbings will be doing a full day workshop on Tuesday 4th March. She will be teaching her award winning colourque technique. Our retreats are always a something special and a memory for life.

I have a little time left tonight to wrap some Christmas goodies.

Never ever assume anything

My day started at about 5am today and all was going well until I got a phone call from my dad. He recently asked me to buy a gift for my mother, a 1/2 carat diamond pendant which I assumed was a Christmas gift. I took a trip to the jeweller I use when I need something and organised to have it made.
Well, one should never just assume anything. My Dad phoned me today to find out how it was coming on and I assured him it was all under control. So then he asks if I would be going to their home today.
No, I said, why would I be coming to your place today? I asked.
Dad replies, It's 13th tomorrow and then I realised why he had been so anxious. It's not for Christmas it's for their wedding anniversary tomorrow.
Geez, what does someone do in this situation I ask you?
Beg of course! A quick phone call to the jeweller and some real fast talking.
I picked it up at 3.30pm and delivered it at 4.30pm to a very happy Dad. Any other year would not have been a problem but this will most likely be the last anniversary he will celebrate with my mum.
I forgot to take a photo of it but it is very beautiful.

Last Friday I catered for the local business womens lunch on my verandah. We all had a great day.

Not a patchworker amoung them. Looks like I have some work to do to convert them. Hmmmm!

Tomorrow I plan to clean up my office and studio. That will be no mean feat. It is in a bit of a state.
I will let you know how I get on.

Starting out

Well the time has come for me to join the ranks of the bloggers.
I have procrastinated for a long time now and when I actually decided to take the plunge I realised that I didn't even know where to start.
So with the help of my daughter Shannon I am finally here.

As some of you know my husband and I have a B&B called Kindred Spirits in the quaint little township of Eumundi
which is located in the beautiful Noosa hinterland. Here we also run my patchwork design business Patchwork with Busyfingers.
We are lucky enough to be able to work from home and enjoy a wonderful lifestyle.
